“Mobilization after September”: the Alabuga Rumor Moscow Itself Taught People to Believe

An anonymous Telegram channel reports a meeting at Alabuga about mobilization after September. There is no confirmation — and we say that first. But this is confirmed: Moscow has already turned Alabuga into a military facility and devalued the Kremlin’s word so thoroughly that no one trusts its denials.

What is being claimed: according to the Telegram channel “MOBILIZATION | News | What to do?”, citing an unnamed eyewitness, managers and HR staff at the Alabuga Special Economic Zone allegedly held a meeting on procedures in the event of mobilization after September and on employee exemptions. There are no documents, no recording and no named source. According to the website Calid, Alabuga management called the posts false.

We do not trade in anonymous “insider reports.” The claim of “mobilization after September” is not an established fact, and we will not present it as one. If documents, orders or independent confirmations appear, we will update the article the same day.

Why people believe this rumor

We will be asked: why write about it at all? Because the situation itself is an indictment. Residents of Tatarstan learn about their possible fate from anonymous channels because Moscow has taught them that everything is officially denied until the last day. In the autumn of 2022, mobilization was also called “rumors and provocations” — right up until the decree was signed. The Kremlin’s credit of trust is zero, and that is not our assessment. It is the learned experience of millions of people who once believed the denials.

What is not a rumor

Alabuga’s military transformation is a fact reported by the Russian press itself. On July 7, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported that conscripts aged 18–30 were being invited to complete 12 months of compulsory service directly at Alabuga, combining it with training and work involving unmanned aerial systems — at a site whose role in the production of attack drones has long been described by international media. The special economic zone that Tatarstan was promised as a showcase of development has been integrated into the military machine — together with our jobs and our conscripts.

Conclusion of the Government in Exile

As long as the power to announce mobilization belongs to Moscow, every man in Tatarstan lives with a suitcase of rumors instead of guarantees. In an independent Tatarstan, no foreign decree will reach our homes. That is the difference between a subject of a federation and a subject of history: the first is mobilized — the second decides for itself.
